thirty-nine years ago, this afternoon [o/t]. . .




rev. martin luther king jr. was felled by
a single round -- fired from a .30-06 rifle,
while standing on the balcony outside
room 306 of the lorraine motel, in memphis. . .


and so began the very long, hot spring of 1968. . .
