later. . . i got detained at work,
and the day got away. . .
thanks to christy
hardin smith at
linking me on
this story. . .
below are new,
cleaner jpegs of
the docs; i've
not set those
only be of inter-
est to lawyers -- if
someone requests, in comments, i will do so. . .
buckle up for the 17th, but remember that
sen. patrick leahy's senate judiciary letter
and the new, multi-signer-reiteration version, both
requested, pursuant to standing committee rules
of the senate, that most of these same documents
be made available to his office at least 48 hours
prior to the 17th -- and so, the afternoon of
friday, april 13, 2007 may be very
active here, as well. . . carry on.
citing gonzales' "incomplete responses thus
far, [one that] falls far short" of what is
needed to "effectively exercise oversight. . .
in ascertaining the truth behind. . . very
serious concerns that have been raised re-
garding this matter", the chairman of the
house judiciary committee, representative
john conyers has sent [pdf format] the united
states attorney general, alberto gonzales, a
subpoena duces tecum in connection
with earlier requests on the purge-scandal.
"further delay will not serve any con-
structive purpose. . ."
he must appear in person on the 16th,
unless a deal is made to stay the
subpoena. . . we'll see -- that
puts conyers one day ahead of leahy!
the letter (and subpoena) have just been
released by conyers' offices. . . click the
image to read full-size -- i'll have the
rest, including the subpoena, shortly. . .
next letter page:
and, here again, is the subpoena duces tecum.
[click it to read. . .]
all in all, a busy, productive day. . .
