House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) is gathering the leading experts in civil liberties and democracy for a forum titled, "The State of American Freedoms - A Public Dialogue." The forum will be held TOMORROW, June 28, at 2 pm in the Judiciary Committee's hearing room, 2141 Rayburn.

"As we approach Independence Day, we gathered these panelists to look at the status of the principles this country holds dearest -- our freedom, our civil liberties, and our continued search for economic and racial justice," Conyers said. "The panelists will discuss where we are, where we’ve been and where we’re going."
